He died in London and is buried in Linlithgow, Scotland. In 1755, Glen negotiated the treaty with the Cherokee, known as the Treaty of Saluda Old Town. He was also responsible for promoting an official policy of divide and rule, which aimed to create in Indians an "aversion" to African Americans.
