Scope and ContentAnnette Eick was a lesbian Jewish refugee from Berlin who arrived in Britain in 1939. Eick was a prolific writer and she recorded her life in poems, journals, and autobiographical articles. These papers are a collection of her writings, from the late 1920s when she was writing for lesbian magazines in Berlin, to poems and journals, much of it unpublished, until her death in Devon in 2010. The earlier material is in German, from about 1950 onwards much of the material is in English.
The collection also includes correspondence with family and friends, some researchers regarding her history as a lesbian under the Nazis, and her claim for restitution as well as many photographs.
