Scope and ContentThe Papers consist mainly of letters written by Wolfgng von Einsiedel to Georg Weys between 1941 until his death in 1967. The two men met in the Huyten internment camp and were both deported to Canada. During this time they developed a close relationship. The letters trace the development of their lives and friendship and give a flavour of cultural life in wartime London. Also included in the collection is a scrapbook of articles by von Einsiedel written for the German exile newspaper 'Die Zeitung', some photographs, and Georg Weys’ memories as recorded by his daughter Arun Weys.
An additional folder of letters written by the sculptor Willi Soukop was donated a few years later.
