Research Section (1947) and the Democratic Union (1947-1948); progress and activities reports by the S.S.A. as well as S.S.A minutes and a list of members; records of the S.S.A's campaign against the Socialist Party of Great Britain (S.P.G.B.) and attempts to engage critically with the Party; and records of the S.S.A. Coordinating Committee, set up to help the cumulative building of group theory and practice. The series also contains records relating to the political activities of some of the founding members before the S.S.A. was established in 1942, such as Walford's membership of the S.P.G.B.
