Scope and ContentThe collection consist of circa 120 letters sent by Adolf Placzek to his cousin Ernst Philipp. Three quarters of the letters are typewritten. Placzek writes about his work as Librarian and the construction of the library building, gossips about family and friends, and entreats Philipp to visit or meet up when he is in Europe. Almost all letters include comments on Philipp's writings, poetry and translations as well as thoughts about his own creative output.
The collection complements the Adolf Placzek and Ernst Philipp Collection (PLA) which includes their writings and Philipp's diaries, and the Ernst Philipp Letters (EPH) from 1939-1940.
