Scope and ContentThis sub-series includes play scripts, scripts for cabaret compères (also referred to as conférenciers), poems, song lyrics, source material and production notes for the theatre productions in which the Millers were involved. A large part of the sub-series comprises papers relating to 1939-1945 exile theatre companies based in London such as the Laterndl, the company with which the Millers were most closely involved. Most of these are in German but a small number of scripts are in English as the companies performing them wanted to engage with English speaking audiences. It includes theatre scripts, poems and novel fragments by Jura Soyfer, whose work was often performed by the exile theatre companies. Note that this sub-series does not include the pre-1945 theatre scripts written by Martin Miller, which are in sub-series Miller 1/1. Of the post-1945 theatre records in this sub-series, some relate to performances commemorating the work of exile theatre companies, while others come from productions by English-language theatres companies unrelated to the exile community.
